On August 24, Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Vu Dai Thang signed Plan No. 331/KH-UBND regarding the implementation of the Hanoi Capital Master Plan with a 100-year vision.
Under the plan, Hanoi will undertake the formulation of 81 planning schemes, comprising 63 urban subdivision plans, 13 functional zone subdivision plans, and 5 plans for underground spaces and specialized technical infrastructure. Of these, 47 schemes will be developed based on existing plans, while 34 will be newly created. The city strives to complete the approval process for all schemes by 2026.
The implementation of these plans is aligned with a multi-layered, multi-polar, and multi-centric urban cluster model. Hanoi is prioritizing key growth areas, growth poles, strategic development axes, underground spaces, TOD projects, and infrastructure works with significant spillover effects. Approximately 22 urban subdivision plans have been identified for priority completion.
Alongside urban spatial development, Hanoi will accelerate digital transformation in planning management, build a 4D development model for the Capital, digitize and standardize GIS data, and integrate data regarding underground spaces and technical infrastructure. The plan also focuses on tasks related to the environment, transportation, food safety, the economy, and science, technology, and innovation, aiming to build a green, modern, and sustainably developed Capital.
Hanoi accelerates digital transformation in planning management. The concretization of the planning system is expected to establish a cohesive foundation for the development of infrastructure, urban areas, and new growth-driving zones, while simultaneously creating further scope for long-term investment.
