The General Department of Taxation has established working groups to support businesses and individuals affected by Typhoon No. 3 and subsequent floods in northern provinces. These groups consist of tax experts tasked with guiding the implementation of tax relief policies, including tax exemptions, reductions, and deferrals for businesses and households. The Director General of the General Department of Taxation also directed local tax departments to closely cooperate with provincial authorities and relevant agencies to promptly assess the damage and implement timely support measures.
The Quang Ninh Tax Department and other local tax agencies have swiftly carried out their duties in assisting taxpayers. As of early October, the Quang Ninh Tax Department had handled over 104 direct support requests and processed thousands of emails from businesses and individual taxpayers. The department has also actively assigned staff to quickly resolve administrative procedures, especially in determining damage values and providing related documentation.
In other provinces like Lao Cai and Phu Tho, tax departments have begun accepting applications for tax exemptions, reductions, and deferrals from affected businesses. However, challenges in determining the extent of the damage, particularly in border provinces, have been noted. Local tax authorities are working hard to assist businesses in completing the necessary documentation to receive timely support from the government.
